Jointly organised by Hong Kong Financial Services
Department Council and Hong Kong Marime and Port
Board, the forum consists of 2 panel discussions with the
topic tle of “Hong Kong’s Marime Leasing Industry:
Issues, Challenges, and Opportunies″ and “Marine
Insurance – Past, Present & Future″. Marime and financial
experts will share their views and insights on the business
opportunies of the shipping-related financial and
insurance services in the marime sector.
The conference will introduce the blockchain concept and
distributed ledger technology to the Hong Kong shipping
community. The innovaon of blockchain technology could
help save billions of cost in the shipping and logiscs
industries. Experts in the field will also examine the legal
implicaons that may arise from the blockchain technology
and smart contract technology, in addion to specific use
on trade documentaon, trade finance, cargo tracking and
provenance.

Event Highlights
The rise of e-commerce has transformed the global retail
business and led to growth in sales in the cross-border
sector. How to gain a compeve edge in the
rapidly-growing e-commerce market? Forum on e-Cargo
Power may shed some lights on this. Speakers of the Forum
will share their knowledge, views and experiences in China,
Hong Kong and overseas markets. Open to public, the
forum will take place at The Hong Kong Polytechnic

Held at the Hong Kong Marime Museum, the Expo will
gather 15 shipping and terary educaonal organisaons
with human resources and industry experts to share
industry informaon, interview ps and seafaring
adventure stories. There will be free admission to the
Museum on 25 and 26 Nov (Sat and Sun)!
“Ready, Set, CODE″! For university students who enjoy
challenge and data analysis, this hackathon is the perfect
plaorm to put creavity into acon. Shipping data will be
provided to parcipang teams to build a business model or
applicaon within 40 hours. Winners will be assessed based
on their creavity and praccability of the business model
created.
